Job Description
NRC Moldova began operations in March 2022, implementing humanitarian programs. From 2023, NRC Moldova is focusing on long-term programming with a focus on supporting durable solutions for refugees and ensuring inclusion of refugees within government programs and/or other relevant support.
The Grant Coordinator is responsible for ensuring quality and timely grants processes, as delegated by the Head of Programme Support Unit.
The purpose of the Grants Coordinator position is to provide essential grant management support to the CO in delivering quality programmes in line with the NRC CO strategy and Plan of Action. The following is a brief description of the role.
Responsibilities
Generic responsibilities
1. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures and consideration of NRC global and regional
2. strategies when executing functions related to this role
3. Contribute to the development and maintenance of overview of all grants, donor requirements, rules and regulations, and internal and external deadlines.
4. Ensure standardised information management/filing systems for all grants documents, as per NRC
5. policy (including through the grants database - forthcoming)
6. Coordinate the development of donor applications and reports, as well as ensuring donor compliance and quality control.
Specific responsibilities
1. Build positive working relationships with other teams in the Country Office to coordinate and support development of high-quality donor documents (including proposals, amendment requests, reports) using relevant NRC Grant Management tools and guidance;
2. Plan and organize meetings as per the NRC PCM framework (Go-No-Go, proposal planning, progress review and closure).
3. In collaboration with the Advocacy team, support the development of country factsheets and other relevant information pieces for donor visits/meetings.
4. Contribute to PCM trainings and grant inductions as delegated by the Head of Programme Support Unit.
5. Act as the Country Office helpdesk for donor-related matters.
6. Ensure correct maintenance of an up-to-date grants funding tracker and/or NRC grants management system.
7. Support the CO with communication with donors, as delegated by the Head of Programme Support Unit.
8. Contribute to strengthening collaboration with other actors through building and strengthening networks, cooperation and implementing partnerships.
9. Contribute to the implementation of Safe and Inclusive Programming Minimum Standards throughout programmes, with capacity building, guidance and interdepartmental engagement.
10. Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards and principles within NRC and amongst project participants supported by NRC
Qualifications
Professional competencies
- Relevant university degree or higher education preferable in social studies
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience of programmatic implementation in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Technical experience in managing (multisectoral) grants
- Experience working in complex and volatile contexts
- Budget management and monitoring experience
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Experience working with refugees, IDPs or returnees is a plus
- Knowledge of main institutional donors is an advantage (e,g., EU donors, Norad, SDC, GFFO).
