The Organization
About AIM (FSEA) - Alliance of Small Businesses from Moldova was conceived by three American small business owners in Moldova as a way to band together to improve the “way business works” in Moldova. All three had experienced corruption, needless bureaucracy and a system badly in need of reform - but completely uninterested in changing. AIM was created as an “Asociația Patronală” or “Employers Association” as a mechanism to bring together members of Moldova’s Small Business Community to collectively engage in supporting positive change.
AIM is a membership-based organization composing of over 45 companies and representing 400+ Employees across diverse industries. Companies are 53% Moldovan; 45% Mixed-Capital; 2% Foreign. AIM supports its members via networking and social events, “First Call” emergency resource and via advocacy on Prime Minister’s Economic Council, Customs Advisory Council, and direct to key government institutions.
Job Description
“People don't give to causes. People give to people with causes”
AIM currently takes in less than 40% of its required operating budget from Member Dues. The role of the Fundraising Manager is to create diverse and sustainable sources. The Fundraising Manager will develop programs and activities supporting this goal by focusing on the following target areas:
Raise funds from External Partners and Donors
Raise funds from Sponsorship
Organize paid business events
Create internal Opportunities Amongst Members
Engaging the Greater Business Community
Example Activities Include (but are not limited to):
Finding international donors that fund AIM activity
Writing project proposals
Finding General Sponsors
Donation Drives for in-kind material
Research Products - Coordinating with partners or relevant member companies to produce Studies / white papers, market competitiveness study, etc that may become an FSEA product
Skills / Experience
Required hard skills
Proven experience in project writing
Experience in fundraising in the NGO sector or sales experience in business
Working proficiency in Romanian, Russian and English
Professional communications skills, written and verbal
Required soft skills
Result oriented
Creativity and entrepreneurial spirit
Experience in a self-starting environment
Outgoing and confident personality
